About Gus
I spent most of my working life in a bakery: started on the ovens, ended up running the place, and somewhere in between learned that a production meeting can last longer than a loaf takes to prove. When the chance came to retire early, I took it, sold up in Leeds and moved to High Intake, a few acres where the fields give up and the moor starts.
I keep a few hens, a polytunnel that argues with the wind, more leeks than anyone needs and a herb patch that gets more attention than it deserves. Whisky, the collie, runs the place. I write down what works up here, because most of what I read was written for somewhere a good deal warmer.
